Health by the Percent: Mastering the 1% Rule for Lasting Wellness.

Do you struggle with achieving your health goals?

It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, often neglecting our well-being. One way to improve your well-being is to apply the 1% rule to improve your health.

The 1% rule, also known as the "Kaizen" approach, suggests making small, incremental changes consistently over time to achieve significant results.

So, how can we apply the 1% rule to improve our health? Focus on one change at a time and start with the easiest change to build momentum and confidence. Gradually layering these changes will lead to sustainable habits and overall health improvements. It could be anything from getting more sleep, drinking more water, or incorporating exercise into your daily routine. Once you've pinpointed your area of focus, aim to make a small improvement, just 1%, each day.

For example, if you're trying to increase your water intake, begin by adding an extra glass of water to your daily routine. Then, gradually increase it by another glass each day or every few days. Before you know it, you'll be effortlessly staying hydrated and reaping the benefits of improved hydration.

This can also be applied to if you want to reduce a habit, for example sugar. Instead of attempting to eliminate all sources of added sugar from your diet at once, start by replacing one sugary beverage, such as soda or sweetened juice, with a healthier alternative like infused water, unsweetened tea, or sparkling water.

By consistently making those small 1% improvements, you'll create a positive ripple effect that will compound over time. These changes may seem minor at first, but as days turn into weeks, weeks into months, and months into years, the cumulative effect will help you reach your health goals.

Achieving small wins through consistent, incremental progress creates positive feedback loops in your brain. When you experience success, even on a small scale, it releases dopamine and motivates you to continue making positive changes. This positive reinforcement helps to reinforce the habit and keep you motivated.
